While I only know the "print person" as an acquaintance I'm disappointed to hear of that sort of behavior - extremely unprofessional and, frankly, sad, because I also understand she has had a bit of a rough road the last year or two. I am actually happy to know it wasn't a situation of poor business ethics - I belong to a monthly "out to dinner" group and we wanted to try the restaurant out. Thanks for the "rest of the story!"

@Food_Guy Had a terrible experience here. Food cold, not served with side items as descibed, all parties at the table not served together. Food taste mediorcre. No second chance.

@PaulaB Recovered 30 of the 40 menus - received nominal check - hope check clears. We will see -- They gave me 2 days to produce 40 menus, gifts certificates, business cards for their grand opening. They were showed proofs -- ok'd . It is over -- will not repeat that mistake.
Either you can produce a product in 2 days or you can't, if you take a job knowing the time constraints then it's on you to meet that constraint. You can also just turn down jobs that are not enough time for you.

@lanestar7 You are correct -- should have turned them down, however after 40 years in business I feel for start ups and knew no one else would have made that deadline. Will not repeat that mistake.

@Myopinion This is a local business supporting local contractors. Their dumpster people are local the lawn care people are local all the employees are also local. I'm sorry that you had a less-than-desirable experience your first try. I say we be goodsports and help them get the wrinkles ironed out. It's a nice place they're nice people and I would like to see them stay. The state of Illinois gives you two chances at speeding before they take your license

A community organization I belong to had a dinner meeting scheduled at Sapphire for 5:30 last night (May 9). The group arrived to find a closed building and empty lot. This reservation had been on the books and confirmed several weeks in advance. Needless to say, I doubt my group will be going there, or holding any functions there, in the future.
