So some ones wants to change your belief wouldn't you need strong evidence.

I don't take people's comments on this forum, per se, as "strong evidence", unless they're describing something that actually happened to them OR I ask them and they provide me with one or more credible sources.
Even then, I go off and do my own research. In my opinion, it's one of the pitfalls of social media: people commenting, yet you have no idea who the person is and whether or not they are credible.
But this is just my approach. This is how I've always been my entire life. And it's a big reason why I don't get worked up over the "mainstream media" headlines. Heck, it's why I don't get worked up over the media at all!!
In my opinion, you get in a big flap because you just go back and forth with someone in the comments, and don't take a break from it all to reflect on what they've said by asking them for some resources you could go to.
Or just plain reflect on what they said.
