@meanjarhead well yes, the downtown area has gotten a ton of money. Who do you think has a bigger influence on that, Denise Moore or the people on the horse shoe that are trying to please caterpillar?

@ricardo All i know is i was downtown working with Terri the first snowfall we had It was a saturday. we went across the river to Culvers to grab food at like 9 at night there wasnt a flake of snow on the streets anywhere. We worked until 1 in the morning get home and our street is a skating rink. Why would they be pleasing CAT Execs at 1 A.M. downtown on a Sunday?

@meanjarhead just doing some research, this thing was pushed by Caterpillar and passed on a 9-1 vote.

$140 million dollar deal ($40 million from the city from sales taxes). city leases out its portion of the land for $1 per year for fifty years. this was a prime real estate downtown renovation of the sears block to the caterpillar/city museum block. their latest effort is trying to build condos on riverfront park.

@meanjarhead the hotel deal was an 8-2 vote so again not really a partisan issue. $94 million dollar deal, with $29 million coming from the city of Peoria. after interest it will cost the city $54 to $61 million because the city had to issue bonds to pay for this.

technically it was asked whether denise got the money she asked for. The big dollar votes were done before Denise was on the City Council. Denise started in 2013. The votes for the warehouse district, the museum project, the stadium and the hotel were all done before she was elected.

I find it amusing that she is being blamed for votes that she did not make, and the people who actually voted for these projects are getting a pass. lol.

Can someone give me a $1 a year lease on a new restaurant that the city tax dollars funded and charges it's residents $8 to get in? I'll even serve as much Ranch dressing as one can chug.
