On the other hand I think Cruz is inherently dishonest & unlikable

@JnJ :

Why is that? He was elected in Texas to go to DC and fight against the establishment. He has done that at every turn. He doubled down on ending ethanol subsidies, even when the MSM predicted it would "kill any chance of a victory in Iowa." What has he done that makes you feel he is "inherently dishonest?" I'll leave the likable comment alone. I disagree, but that is a purely subjective opinion.

@AV8R :

I used to have a non-opinion of Cruz for the most part. He looked ridiculous reading a Dr. Suess book on the Senate floor - and that image has never left me. The deception he pulled on Dr. Carson the night of the Iowa caucus was unforgivable in my book. Through his dishonest actions he disenfranchised the Dr. Carson supporters, among others. Even if CNN was misleading in their reporting it was incumbent upon him to verify with the Carson campaign before spreading such harmful rumors. Full disclosure - no amount of discussion will change my mind on that so save yourself the time. ;-)

Regarding "fighting" the establishment, there is a persuasive way to do it and an ineffective way to do it. Clearly he was not persuasive as nothing changed. So in a nutshell he is just another tough talking, special interest money grubbing politician that is a do-nothing in Congress - like the others.

I will say that Trump is the only one that either has the insight or the courage to admit that the infrastructure in this country is in bad shape and in dire need of an overhaul.

I think Trump would have a ton of Dems cross over in a General Election.

@shifty :

They already have. Look at the Iowa Dem/GOP turnout stats from 2012 compared to 2016. Emoticon

The only reason to cross over during a primary or caucus is to insure Trump is the candidate for the Republicans and would guarantee a win for whoever the Democratic candidate for President happens to be.

@JnJ What about the turnout stats show there was any Dem crossover?

And yes, I think Sanders can and will win. You should hope so too, because the only alternative at this point is Hillary.

@shifty Hilly got c**k-blocked by the "the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy" in 2008.

She won't get c**k-blocked this time.

I absolutely want Trump to win the nomination. I see after having to call himself a loser in Iowa, all Faux News sins are forgiven and he's back in the next debate as if he didn't put himself in time-out for the last one. It must not ALL be able to be blamed on Grandpa Munster if he is agreeing to face down the evil Megyn again.
