@Ramble On I'm smh because some of you on this forum immediately go to the extreme poles of opinion without ever considering there might be some middle ground or even some media manipulation going on. Sometimes trying to have a decent conversation on this forum is a big waste of time.
@Rixblix Confessing to child molestation is WAY WAY different at the age of 14 than at the age of 41. No matter how disgusting you consider this crime to be (and it is) every 14 year old who does this does not necessarily turn into a serial molester.
More reasons why I'm smh:
1. Again, no one but that family knows what went on behind the scenes in that family before or after the admitted molestations. Neither you nor Riblix (or Seal for that matter) were there so you aren't qualified to judge this family on the decisions that were made. You are basing your judgement on what you've read in the media. That isn't fair to anyone in this family.
2. The kid was 14 years old when this happened. He might know right from wrong at that age but he obviously made a terrible mistake doing what he did. Lord knows none of you ever did something really stupid at that age. Josh admitted to it. He denied nothing. On top of this, at that age, would he have even served jail time or be forced to register as a sex offender for this type of molestation? I doubt it. Most likely this would have been sealed, if in fact it isn't already.
3. The people you should be angry at are TLC and their greediness to make money at whatever cost. They apparently knew about this but still chose to glorify this family for the sake of TV.
4.
@Rixblix : In spite of the family's penchant for fame, I can't imagine the turmoil they went through during that time. I know I would never want to be in their shoes (regardless of what they believe in politically or spiritually) and have to make the decision of "should I throw my 14 year old in jail? Should he have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life?" This is why I refuse to judge this family right now. I'm just grateful I've never had to walk in their shoes.
