His "counseling" was to go and help a family friend do some kind of remodeling on a building. No actual therapy.

A stump, a nail and a hammer is the PERFECT therapy for child molesters.

Also, and please don't think I am condoning what he did at all, but part of me wonders if maybe this isn't something where he likes little girls, but more of something that is a result of his extremely sheltered conservative upbringing. I would imagine there was no sex education and any curiousity would be immediately squashed and shamed, which generally leads to more curiousity. Obviously an unhealthy curiousity.

Although I don't in any way condone what he did (if it's all true), I don't think we should be the ones to judge him based on what the media has printed, no matter what happened. The media loves to sensationalize and often leave out facts. I truly hate what they have become--judge, jury and crucifiers of everything they deem wrong without knowing/printing ALL the facts.

I'm going to wait and see what other facts come out before passing judgement. And even then, it's not up to me to judge unless I'm chosen as part of the jury and get to hear all the evidence.

It isn't what the media has printed...it's the ACTUAL POLICE REPORT from 2006 during the time the abuse was occurring! TLC KNEW of these allegations but chose to make them famous ANYWAY! These people hold sway over a certain segment of the population...these people are out activly campaigning against certain issues (eg gay marriage) because those issue are considered immoral and 'against the bible'! While in their own home they have a child molestor.

I have always been against playing judge & jury through the media or personally, however Josh Duggar admitted the fondling. Since all the juvenile names were redacted in the police report that is where assumptions start. Girls sleeping? Assume younger sisters. I haven't read about when TLC first knew of the admitted fondling.

He was 14 when this happened...he wasn't 19, 21, 25 when this allegedly happened.

Again, only the police report has come out and their very short statements, which are not a full account of what happened--these are just snapshots that don't give us details about what happened in the years afterwards, or even before. Was Josh himself abused before this? If so, by whom? Did he get counseling before or afterwards? Did his sisters? Did the entire family? If so, who counseled them? How were the sisters cared for after this? What was the punishment? We don't know any of this and even if we did, who are we to judge them, even if they themselves go around speaking against gay marriage or whatever? Be the change you want to see in the world, not just more proliferation of what you hate.

OK. The change I want to see is child molesters held accountable. I also want to see radical fundamentalists living what they preach. And I'd also like for people to stop making excuses for a kid who was inappropriate with SEVERAL of his siblings over a long period of time. Had it been one time, different story. Had the church not covered it up, different story. Had the sheriff investigating not ALSO been charged with child porn, different story. Yes. I am judging. When they chose to share their righteous'way of life, they invited judgement.

So...should you get caught in a compromising situation we should judge you as harshly as you are judging the Duggars, even without knowing all the facts, simply because we don't like your progressive beliefs and attitude but are eager to jump on the bandwagon? Sounds like witch hunt activism to me. No thanks. I have a brain and I like to use it.

We may not know all the facts but we do know that Josh Duggar admitted molesting four of his sisters and one other young girl, which means he is a child molester and as a child molester he deserves to be judged harshly by anyone with a working brain because his behavior is completely unacceptable.

I am hoping against hope that his victims receive whatever professional help they may need although that seems unlikely given the environment they are in.

I also hope that he is never left alone with another child, including his own children.

Granted the "behaviors" in question seemingly occurred in 2002 - 2003. The parents knew and their church knew Even the local police knew. Did TLC know when they chose the family for their network? If not, when? The statute of limitations has long passed. Although I disagree with many of their stances, I support their right to have those opinions. I do not support a 14 - 15 year old boy fondling his sisters. I do not support a church that should be a "mandated reporter" not following through on that responsibility. I believe he matured beyond being a current risk. TLC is like most corporations, it's about the money. If they thought this publicity was going to hurt their brand, it would be tossed like a hot potato just like Honey Boo Boo. Gee, I am glad I do not have cable or satellite and don't have a monkey in this circus.
