I could be wrong, but I don't believe this man would have been turned away (and then later arrested) if he'd had been taken to OSF, which is a level one trauma center. Meningitis is almost always accompanied by a high fever which can make a person delirious. This is probably what caused any noncompliance with the patient. He should have been shown compassion. Very sad.

@TheOneStopHomeShop : Do you have any evidence that this man was treated differently because of his race. The ER at Methodist probably treats thousands of non-whites in 2016 and did so without giving one thought to their race.

What's the price for someone's life today. Do they go by the Job they had or what the day is worth. I really would like to know how they come up with how much someone's life is worth. Some people work all their lives and only make a couple of hundred thousand. Yet in a court room your dead body is worth millions in the right circumstance.
