>> The thing that I find that oddest are most of the people that are against the Death Penalty are for Abortion. Seems a bit skewed doesn't it?

@Seal:
No one is for abortion.

I too find it ironic that many people who claim to be pro-life support the death penalty.

@joepyeweed:

I am all for both.

@meanjarhead:

I almost qualified that with "except for mjh"; cuz I just knew you would say that...

@joepyeweed:

Call me whatever you want, Just never inconsistent.

I don't have time to read all these pages right now but here's the thing. If I have a legal choice on wearing a seatbelt and I get into an accident and get hurt because I wasn't buckled in, that's on me. My choice. I have over 2 million miles driving, only 2 little fender benders. CAN something happen?? Of course but the odds are not against you, if you're a responsible driver. The other guy can be a factor but still too rare to really consider.

I wear my seatbelt because it's the law and I can easily be busted for not wearing it. I did several times back home. But the day I drive back to Buffalo, or any distance on the freeway, as soon as I'm out of the city, the belt comes off and the little piece of black tape goes over the idiot light.

2 million miles in a truck I never wore one. Never wore one when I was a kid and rarely as an adult and I'm still here to tel lthe tale

Yes. But if I accidentally hit you the cost of your injuries are at my expense. And the cost of your injuries can be exponentially higher if you don't wear your seat belt.

I find using a seatbelt as much of an inconvenience as using my turn signal.

@AverageJoe:

You can fall down the stairs and break your neck. So, does that mean you'll remove all the stairs in your house?

I hope everyone choosing not to wear a seatbelt has a DNR and a VERY specific Living Will.

@Rixblix:

I chose to not bend over and take it up the @ss every time the insurance companies lobby the shills in Washington to take more freedoms away from us.

comparison:
don't drive a car = removing stairs in your house.

wearing a seatbelt = securing yourself on a scaffold if you are going to wash windows on a large building.

This is where a thread about seat belts leads? Good grief!

@skutfarcus:

When you and your buddy are sitting on the patio at Kenny's having a conversation about a specific topic, does it never veer off to include other thought?? and should it not when there is a large group of people in a conversation??

@AverageJoe:

Washing windows on a tall building and walking up stairs are not the same thing. The point is that you can get hurt anytime but you don't live in a bubble to make sure you don't get hurt. Why should this be any different?

First you have to have common since. Would you let your child stand up in the front seat a s you did while you were a child. I was at a stop and go light and got hit. Accidents happen there are chances you take every time you get in your vehicle
