Years back when my wife and I were hunting for our first house, we almost bought one along River Road near Chillicothe on the inland side of the road (with railroad tracks right behind it). Though I love to be near water, the thought of having to deal with flood damage every couple of years nixed it for us.My heart goes out to those that go through this and tough it out. At some point though, we have to quit pretending that building on flood plains is a sound idea.

The rain over here hasn't let up much.My phone alerts are set up to an old-fashioned "aaaah-oooooh-gaaaah!" sound. I keep getting flood warnings: You'd think I had a Tin Lizzie in the house!The flood warning is now extended to Sunday 12:30am.
