Hmmm..I'm gonna have to case the joint..lol....Their breakfasts are ok..it's hard to ruin breakfast..but not into their lunch items at all...I'm a much better cook.

@craftywoman

Yeah, most of their lunch offerings are just average, why I usually stick to the breakfast items. Sometimes the lunch specials are better. Hubs like the coleslaw. We go there more for its convenient location, half way between me and hubs as a place to meet for lunch.

Childers Eatery on University. Good food and Baby Boomer tunes!

I find the new location at Junction City just too noisy to have a decent conversation in.

Yes! We went to the Junction City Childer's for brunch on Easter Sunday. The food was excellent, but the place is VERY noisy. It also has a weird flow of people when the place is crowded. The people wanting to exit block the people wanting to enter, and the hostess and servers are forced to dodge between groups. But the food is every bit as good (and creative) as it is at the University location.

Love the lunch buffet!

On Friday, the Alexander's $10 burger/fries and soda (or can of beer) is also great.

Myself I like Blimpie`s on University.
I get the Super Stacked Trio foot long which is way more than I can eat so I take half home for later. Lunch is always hard to eat out because of getting filled up. Usually after eating a lot my body wants a nap which is not good after eating. Walking my dogs help before my nap.

Totally agree with the noise factor at the new Childers. Food is very good but it is very tough to have a conversation.

I've had that same experience at Spotted Cow. It was very noisy and hard to hear people sitting at the same table.

You all should start a thread where on a designated day everyone snaps pics in their respective eateries, blocks out the faces, and posts them.

"A Day Of Eating Out On PDC" 😅😅

(Blocking out faces = insurance against a "Me and Mrs. Jones" inadvertently showing up in the background of a pic on the thread!)

My husband and I went to Childer's (on University) for lunch today. Well, I had lunch; he had breakfast. He had the corned beef hash with eggs (over easy), with the white cheddar grits and a cheese biscuit. The grits are even better here than at the Junction City location! I had the shrimp tacos with chipotle cream, avocado, cojito (?) cheese and salsa on blue corn tortillas. They were delicious! The service was very good, but the noise level is still a bit high. They now serve Thirty-Thirty coffee (additional cost), but if you don't request it, you'll get Maxwell House. If you order decaf, it's Maxwell House as well. On a more positive note, they do offer several unusual teas. My husband had the blood orange tea that was tasty, and went well with his breakfast.

Good tip, I read they were serving 30/30 and just figured it meant all the time but I will ask next time.

I love Le Peep for lunch when I can't decide between breakfast & lunch, same at 50's Diner. Near Spotted Cow is Famous City, definitely check that one out- they have some amazing fries and their sandwiches really are tasty (plus they have a liquor license if you happen to be lucky enough not to have to return to work!).

I just had a really tasty burger with a side at 4th & Goal in Washington for lunch for only $6! It was a black & blue burger with a lot of blue cheese and bacon, I thought that was a great deal for fast food prices. I didn't care much for the coleslaw but they have a ton of other sides.
