Oh that's different then. I wasn't aware the officer had to wait a pre-specified time prior to initiating self defense. My bad. /sarcasm

self defense? really? couldn't an officer quickly evaluate the situation before he puts himself in danger...

All I had to do is take one look at who was the author of this thread. I didn't even need to see the picture.

@joepyeweed :

you seem to be the expert weed, why don't you enlighten us on that? Maybe every officer ever killed in the LOD should have just followed your simple advice, eh?

I am sure every situation is different. In this particular situation, a young boy who was not dangerous was killed. I am pretty sure something different could have been done. Like maybe the cop could have stayed in his car for twenty or thirty seconds and made an assessment of the situation, instead coming out in three seconds with guns blazing.

@joepyeweed Still, hindsight is always 20/20.

The guy that was shot 16 times in Chicago? The guy with the carry permit? The guy who was shot running away from the cop? Different story.

Yes they are, and the ending is always you criticizing the police with the benefit of a brief video snippet, hours of hindsight and your years of experience in law enforcement.

I don't think a person needs years of experience in law enforcement to want to make sure police don't kill innocent children.

People can have respect for police and the job that they do while simultaneously hold them to a high standard of due diligence in their work.

How long does a police officer go through training.

How long after training does one choose to have some crazed man try to kill him.

Being taught Will never equip you for every day life. It just may help you deal with it better.

@joepyeweed :

True, nor does one need years of experience as a doctor to want to make sure that they don't lose patients on the operating table.

Difference is, I don't come online and second guess those doctors that do lose patients, BECAUSE I'M NOT TRAINED AS A DOCTOR!!

@AV8R I have found it really easy to sit and look at the screen and tell others how they should do their job.

When now you have to decide to shoot at someone for God knows what reason today.

Even good shooting takes time He or she has a Gun you cant try to shoot it out of their hand.
Not everyone has the calm and cool as the next.

When we there is a pattern of people being shot by public servants. .. then the public starts second guessing. Seems online logical.

I can't believe anyone defends it.
