@froggy : it's all public information. The county, city, school district, park district all post a detailed line by line budget.

Do public school districts have a legal obligation to have sufficient space to accommodate the whole student body that exists in their districts? There is a large number of private school students in Peoria. Are the public school districts legally obligated to have sufficient space for them, even if they do not attend public schools?

Legally? Don't think so. Biggest challenge of the district is to adapt to - in a positive way - to the exodus of people to outlying districts. Past leaders land locked D150 and the current and past leaders of the city do about everything they can to stimulate development beyond PPS with TIF's etc. A county wide district would cut administrative costs SUBSTANTIALLY and enhance the learning environment of children. But too many don't acknowledge or understand the benefits of integrated learning.

I agree with you that all of Peoria County consolidation would be problematic. The Farmington school district has students from Peoria and Fulton counties, and sits in Fulton County. How would that work?! @joepyeweed

Vote NO on any tax increases. I do not call my employer for a checkbook refill if I spend too much. Learn to live within your means and cut waste.
I send mine to private school. It is not easy. It is a big sacrifice for tuition, however, the difference is like night and day.

I'd consider voting for this if I felt like Peoria schools was a good investment. I don't think the taxpayers are seeing any return on investment right now at very, very high funding levels. Why would I want to give that same leadership even more money?

@Mahkno :I think space requirements are based upon attendance... budgets $$ received from state and federal government are also based upon attendance. So there is a financial incentive to make sure kids go to school and stay in school.
