One can always do @_____ even if you don't see "ignores" post in the thread. I would never put Randall on ignore!!! Number of posts a day doesn't bother me. It is content in the post that leads me to place someone on my ignore list. It is a short list! Emoticon

HipKat, do you listen to Rush Limbaugh? Why not? Are you "ignoring" him because you don't share his views? Sometimes, it's not WHAT you say, but HOW you say it.

I wish Randall would have won the city council seat for which he ran. I'd attend every council meeting just to watch him annoy the hell out of the "good ol' boys" network. I'm sure he'd be like Sandberg and get out voted 9-1 every time, but.....

If we could have had a council that consisted of people like Sandberg, Randall, C.J. Summer, former 3rd councilman Manning, etc., I think Peoria would be better off.

Again...it's not his message, but how he delivers it. That may be why he lost the election.

@AnneC:

Maybe in part. But when top vote getter in any city council election, Sandberg, switches to Randall's district at the last moment (you have to wonder why when he was always an "at large' councilman) and Moore kisses everyone's butt to tell them all the wonderful things she is going to do for them (which I wonder how many have held true outside the Southtown TIF money that was available) have come true, his chances got really slim. Randall was telling people how it was and not putting lipstick on a pig which probably didn't help him either. I know him, and though we do have some national political difference, he is a likable guy. I don't think people wanted to hear a truthful politician. Think being a truthful politician instead of "lots of promises" politician probably hurt CJ Summers run, too.

Ummmm...should this be moved to the political forum? Emoticon

You're right. My apologies to Randall...and all of you...for my part in taking this thread off the rails. I was in a crappy mood because of an unrelated matter, and vented here. Mea culpa.

Whaaaa??? The politics crack was a joke, hence the smiley. For some reason, some people get a stick up between the buns when topics end up in the wrong forum or start going there. I was just getting in the first "shot". I really don't care.

Hey, and Randall does have a knack for pissing people off and I'd bet he'd be the first to admit it. Personally, and I'd think others would agree, (and I hate to speak badly of the deceased) that the powers that are in Peoria somehow convinced Sandberg to get into that 1st District race & force a run off so there was no chance in hell that Randall would get on the council.

No, I got the joke. But it did snap me out of my funk. I was behaving boorishly, and I did owe you all an apology for that. The "Mea culpa" was a poor attempt to make my post suitable for the Religion forum, too. Emoticon

You do have to wonder what happened with that council race, though.

And....back to the original topic...gas is STILL $2.88/gallon in Chillicothe. It's supposedly the lowest in the state. The local shops and restaurants are loving it. Apparently, many are doing as Ramble On did...coming from out of town for the cheap gas, then spending money elsewhere in town.

I need to go on a road trip, too, I guess. Got 300 Kroger points again. That would make Kroger gas in Chilli $2.58. I'd have to put my snowblower & lawnmower gas cans in the car, too.

Mostly yes, but there are some interesting places to see for the History plus some of the views of the Countryside overlooking the River are fantastic.
