@bgbird68 Won't change things unless they ALL get replaced. This just proves all that comes out of their mouths is HOTT air. To spend money like this for some STUPID pie in the sky idea when if they would have waited could have gotten for FREE. Somebody is getting a kick back from this for SURE.

Now somebody complaining about their yard being torn up by ITV installing fiber optic.

Uhhhh.....you volunteered to have the fiber installed. Might have been something you should have checked on before you signed up.

Someone has residential ITV in Peoria?

@Mahkno : I think the process is you go online and sign up. You have to give a CC number which they don't charge until it's a go. If enough people in your area sign up, they install. I'm not 100% on that but I think that's how it goes.

"How exactly were the Riverfront Village development rights acquired? ..... The council needs to vote this down or at least delay it until we get some answers and a better deal for the taxpayers."

And this is why we all miss the Peoria Chronicle and CJ should be mayor.

And didn't the taxpayers just pony up a ton of cash a few years ago to fix the steps and now they want to tear it down. Screw that, I want a few of those steps I paid for.

Does anyone know how much is still owed on the bonds that can be added to the million they just blew tonight as well. How many cops could we get for say 2 years with the money spent tonight?

How many cops could we get if we channeled the HRA tax to the police department instead of the Civic Center?

One single paragraph noting this ridiculous decision buried in the PDC contract extension article in today's Urinal Jar. They are deep in the pockets of CAT and the City Council, that is very evident today.

I think it is time for the Feds to come in and take a look at the situation and let the chips fall where they may.. The stench of this "stupidity"is unbelievable.
The local news coverage is beyond atrocious so that also helps create an environment for "stupidity" as people don't see what is happening.
I read some papers from a number of other cities both larger and smaller than Peoria. The worst of those papers is much, much, much better than the Journal Star. Problems just continue to mount.Pretty soon everyone will need masks becsuse of the stench of it all.

@lanestar7 That is because Steve Tarter is an imbecile. He just reprints press releases and does puff pieces for everything else. I say the Journal Star putting him on city hall will be one more piece that puts them from irrelevant to totally irrelevant, along with moving Buedel to the Cat beat.

Totally agree, I didn't think the paper could get any further downhill until they did that.
