I'm an Independent and I too have dared make "conservative" comments on here and got "run off the thread" and called all sorts of names. And absolutely no backup from the moderator when I've tried to point it out. And yes, I'll get slammed for these comments too. I mark it down in my "Look What Happens When I Say This, On This Type Of Thread" book, if you will, since I usually get no backup. Also JnJ, after time passing, I realize I do owe you a public apology. And no, I'm again not saying this so you'll take me off "ignore". You said you were offended by people using the term "African-American". I'm not, and my black friends are not. I even took time to call a few on the phone after you brought it up, and contact a few via social media. None are offended. HOWEVER, YOU are. So it is offensive to YOU. And that makes it offensive in your presence. So I publicly apologize for offending you for using that term. I'm sorry. And I'm sorry to your friends who read the thread while I used that term. I've since made a conscious effort to say "black people". If you log out and read my comments since the time you put me on ignore, you'll see that. I'm sorry. Quisp.

I feel bad for the conservatives who feel attacked when they are asked to defend their positions. I don't mind if anyone questions any of my positions, I am happy to discuss them. One of the reason I post them.I can understand some people not liking the term African American because they may have dark skin without having any African heritage. but we all are technically descendants of Africa, so not sure why it would be offensive. We are too hung up on racial origins in the first place.
