The coward lived one block east, and 10 blocks north from Jacob.

@JakesAunt, I do hope that today helps everybody involved find some form of peace.

Especially now that we have a family member here in the forums, I hope that conversation on this topic remains respectful no matter what the verdict may bring.

Up to 15 years for the 1st felony alone, I know they plea- bargain these cases all the time, but I sure hope they hang this coward!

Where are your comments like this involving the low life.s that shoot each other and innocent people and have more then one felony or gun conviction prior?

Just curious why the outcry for "vengeance" here when not for other crimes where people are killed, especially when that is the goal like a shooting?

I don't have a dog in your show. If what happens in your back yard, happened in mine...I'd be 10 times more vocal. This ''road rage'' redneck from my town ( that clearly has driving/anger issues ) lives close to me... and the victim is my neighbor.
I spent many years on Martin St across from the proctor Center in the 70's and felt a LOT safer then.

We...You & I can only try to make a small difference. Quit hurting each other...let's have fun!

If you really have to ask this question then you haven't taken the time think about how this person handled himself after the accident. I honestly feel very sad for any person and their family who experiences a tragic death. To answer your question personally, Ben left my nephew in the middle of the road dead and had it not been for a concerned citizen Jake could of been ran over. Ben then "says" he didn't know anything about this even 4 days later. Say what you want. You have your opinion and right. Mine is Ben was CHOA.

What are the facts of this case? The reporting made it sound like they were both racing or whatever. The charges make it seem like that too.

@jimthompson :

I don't think we can ever really know, other than the one left standing's word and a couple of other drivers they passed on Rt. 6 although I didn't hear that anyone actually saw the crash itself. Ben's black truck had Jake's white paint on it but that wouldn't prove who hit who, just that the vehicles made contact. I personally think Ben's statement is pretty incriminating but maybe some jurors wouldn't.

I never understand the comparison's between outrage.

Just because one topic is being discussed, doesn't mean other topics don't have value, or outrage, or even more outrage. This discussion is about an apparent incident of road rage that ended in death. If you want to discuss another topic, feel free to start a new thread and talk about it.

We are capable of being outraged at more than one thing at time.

@joepyeweed :

It's a diversion tactic to make your opinion seem less important. Usually brought into the conversation when there is no clear rebuttal so they have to divert attention as thy have no other argument.
