Do you ever wonder who first thought: "Hmmmm....if I pick this bean looking thing, roast it, grind it, soak it in boiling hot water, strain it and drink it, it will be a wonderful breakfast drink to help start my day"??

@QuispnQuake : I really like it. Need to track some more down...I'm about out. Thank goodness for the internet as I doubt I find it in P-town.

Need to track some more down.

@ChefKevin : I find it in the "International" aisle at Kroger, if not already in the ethnic part of the rice aisle.

My favorite Deutsch brews. They're all wheat beers and require a tall glass so that the wheat mixture at the bottom of the bottle can be swirled out completely on the top.

@QuispnQuake : Do you buy these German beers in the Peoria area.? If so, where? My husband and I both have German family last names and backgrounds. We attended the 2000 Octoberfest in Germany. So, we are very interested in good German beer to be bought in the Peoria area.

@QuispnQuake : Something like plain ol' Uncle Bens? Yeah, I like it but probably find me cooking Jasmine or short grain sushi rice instead.

@pictureme1 : Like the Chef said, Friar Tuck's. That's where I found it when my late MIL visited.

I wonder if this drink was around before this Cheers episode? The ingredients: "Screaming Viking" cocktail recipe: "vodka, dry vermouth, lime juice, celery stalk, and [garnished] cucumber spear".

@ChefKevin :

What's up Mr. Peterson?

It's a dog eat dog world and I'm wearing milkbone underwear.
