Losing my gall bladder messed up my digestive system really badly. Do your research on the side effects of living without a gallbladder. Be informed on what to expect.

@froggy :
I've heard this a lot!

Well, its not like gall bladder surgery is elective surgery.

If your gall bladder needs to come out, and you don't remove it, it can ruin pancreas, which can be deadly.

So the trade is off, is icky digestive problems from removing the gall bladder versus being dead because your pancreas stopped working.

A friend had gastric bypass locally a few years back. The doctor left a small hole and she died of sepsis.

For the last years feeling like your going to vomit all the time isn't the greatest feeling I have always lived with pain. Now we have worked it down to my gallbladder now just another step. Every thing has complications. I trust the surgeon whos doing the work. Then again I know that anything is possible. I know I will stand again in a new world.

@tntrecycling Have you tried modifying your diet to exclude wheat/gluten to see if that helps with your symptoms?

Here is an interesting article on gluten sensitivity and gallbladder disease: www.thepaleomom.com/ the-link-between-gal lbladder-disease-and -gluten-sensiti

I know that "gluten sensitivity" seems like all the rage these days but I strongly believe it's not a fad diet and definitely something to consider when you are experiencing health issues of any kind. I know so many young kids with serious diseases now that were almost unheard of 20 years ago. I know some who are gluten-free and have improved significantly because of it. I'm one of those people. Never in a billion years would I have tied my health issues to wheat/gluten foods but damn if I didn't get better once I gave it up.

If I could go back and change my diet before losing my gallbladder, I gladly would have tried it instead.

@JnJ Yep. Gallbladder surgery is one of the most common surgeries done in the nation today but it comes with some serious side effects.

Honestly anyone over the age of 45 should never have simple carbs unless they are a marathon runner. People blame it on gluten but its really the simple sugars that accompany the gluten thats the culprit, imo
