New PDC Site: Questions / Confusion / Criticism Thread...
Please keep discussion about the new site to this thread.
There are a lot of small changes, a design change. Some things you'll like, some you won't like!
A couple things off the top of my head:
-- NO it's not finished yet...I'll be getting things back online, one by one, over the next week or two. Some more software needs to be installed, a lot of data needs to be transferred. This takes a lot of detail work to get done properly.
-- The FIRST LINE of text in your forum posts now becomes the title of a new forum discussion. This single field for text makes it easier on tablet and phone users.
-- There's overall more robust support for the phone version of the site, with more features, and more of the sections showing up on the mobile version.
-- "Add Photos" option now, instead of the Image Library, makes uploading multiple photos faster and easier (with client side image resize). It should also work from most phones.
-- "Mentions" are now "Notifications" and there's an icon for them now at the top of every page.
-- New forum stats on in the forum sidebar
-- The news links page is working again...(edit: though I need to verify the feed is downloading automatically still)
-- Layout is wider
-- Movie showtimes feed is back, and a main navigation item
-- Events will be back, but still populating the data.
-- New "News" section is currently empty, but open for someone who might partner up.
-- Restaurants is not back yet...
