I think you will get most people to say they don't like either, however... With DJT suggesting we jail people, those that support that idea are trashing the Constitution. It's like the WBC... I think they are horrible people, but I don't think they should be arrested for exercising their 1st amendment rights.

I say fine you want to burn the flag then don't be surprised when I use water cannon to put out the fire.

I see what you are saying, CJ, but the discussion lately is that flag burning be jail-able and stripped of citizenship. That punishment is being supported by those that say they love this country (and our Constitution). But if they love our Constitution, they'd also love the part about the free speech they are saying people can't have. Either you support the Constitution or you don't.

Personally, I'd like to see these "flag burners" try burning an ISIS flag because they are against terrorism. Wonder how well that'll work for them.

I'd rather see people burn the confederate flag or a Nazi flag.

This whole discussion reminds me of grade school. I'd refuse to stand up for the national anthem / pledge of allegiance and get berated for it by adults. I wasn't even trying to make any sort of political statement, I just didn't feel like standing up.

1. Take away the right to protest by burning the flag, then what's next after that? Protesting on the DC mall or in front of a state capitol?2. As far as burning the Constitution, Google back on right wing websites(fake or not), or GOP media mouth pieces, you'll find criticisms of President Obama doing that anyway with Executive Orders. While forgetting all about the Patriot Act under GWB. 3.Trump during campaign said he wants to amend 1st amendment allowing libel lawsuits against media if they criticize the POTUS or other government officials.He can't handle fun being poked at him on SNL, something they've done to ALL Presidents for last 40 years. in my experience, the teachers did not teach the kids what the pledge meant - the meaning of the pledge and your responsibility for making the pledge. We were taught the words and to place our hand over our hearts.
