Probably same motive as many violent acts. Gang war; someone disrespected someone else's mom, dad, grandmother, cousin etc.; someone upset over a former boyfriend or girlfriend seeing someone else. Someone who owed money to someone else; drug deal that went wrong.
Take your choice. Hope the 2 suspects that are hospitalized will give some answers before they're hauled off the the County Jail. And no judge is going to release these suspects. My opinion and mine alone.

Taking them haunts home to a family. Children and wife knowing you seen them horrors daily.

There seems to be a better than average chance that this started somewhere else, maybe even another state , and spread it here or possibly vice versa. Possibly, the Quad Cities,

@PeoriaIllinoisan : I think I can honestly say for the both of us since we don't have the "hit the clubs" lifestyle anymore, what the heck are you doing walking along Jefferson Street at 2:35 am? I mean, you didn't deserve to get hit and killed by some idiot driver, but..... Most people are home sleeping off those 8 Coors light and 3 Rumplemintz shots by now. Unfortunate incident of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Jack and I talked to Jamie Harwood, the Peoria County Coroner. He showed us some crime scene pics. The fleeing car must have been going so fast, it really did a job on the pedestrian. Think slasher film style, like Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
We also found out from Sheriff Watkins office that the car used for the shooting and hitting the pedestrian...was a stolen vehicle.Hoping after the 2 suspects recover, they get tried and convicted for life.Just my opinion there.

A generation of people who care only of themselves. Killing each other is unacceptable, and families struggle to cope with the loss of their loved ones.
Many say he was a good person who provided well for his family. Yet now they sit in loss because of bad judgements or criminal actions.
Harsh words, yet these actions unfold with no equally strong consequences.
