Living and being around large urban areas provides opportunities to randomly see famous faces and not so famous faces going about their lives In fact it becomes no big deal. . Often times they will give autographs. It is just a matter of being in the right place at the right time. Some of the ones we have seen over the years are Katharine Hepburn, Bill Clinton, Laura Bush and others. it is one of the many perks of urban living. Sometimes it happens so fast on the NYC subway that they are gone before you can get paper and pen ready.
Another time in NYC we were waiting for the light to change to cross the street and we were making small talk to someone around us. Someone asked the woman for her autograph. We didnt recognize her and we watched as she signed and it was Linda Gray of "Dallas" but we didnt ask for her autograph when we realized who it was.
A couple of times years ago we saw Lauren Bacall walking her dog in Central Park. We would have missed her but her voice caught our attention. We did get hers and she was really nice.
The most recent one was last spring we were seeing James Franco in "Of Mice and Men" in NYC. As the lights were going down, Lady Gaga came into the theater with her security entourage and took her seat with her boyfriend. At intermission she signed some autographs in the audience. However, we were a few rows back and missed out. I do have to say that she wasnt the least bit obnoxiou and in that setting she was really gracious.
