Well, it appears in April the building portion of the parcel was split into 2 separate parcels and the theater section was sold to Dries Lane Properties LLC which is owned/ran by a Troy & Monet Ummel of Peoria.
I don't know how many years this event was held but I remember watching it as a kid. I'm sure my dad told me to turn it on because it was at Landmark, and I remember thinking how cool it was that we were on national TV; back when the networks mattered.
PEORIA (25News Now) - The historic bowling alley, Landmark Lanes, is closing after 46 years of operation next month, according to a general manager at the business.
The bowling alley on North Dries Lane is set to close sometime in September.
25News sent a crew to ask the general manager why the place is closing and what are the next steps, and she declined to comment.
U-Fitness, which is in the same building, will remain open.
Landmark Lanes helped Peoria receive attention on the national sports scene over the years, hosting an annual tournament seen on ABC Sports' popular Pro Bowlers Tour.
Longtime broadcaster Chris Schenkel and expert commentator Nelson Burton Jr. called the 1988 event on ABC.
When the PBA came to Landmark (don't remember what years), my Dad and I signed up to bowl in a couple of the Pro-Ams, which is held before the main tournament. We got to bowl along side favorites such as Earl Anthony, Wayne Webb, Brian Voss, and Walter Ray Williams, 1988 may have been the year I got Marshall Holman and an African American pro bowler to come to PCCEO'S studio for a CAPtions taping.
I would think Landmark Lanes would never close in Peoria, especially if the PWBA still held regionals there.
@PeoriaChronicle : And yet people complain there is nothing to do in Peoria. As with many other things, times change and what used to be important to us, doesn't seem to interest the younger generation.

@AntiRanchDrssng : And when you ask the "there's nothing to do" crowd what they did in other cities they almost never have an answer.
