Welcome Home Soldier Monument Park
Yesterday we made the decision to take "the backroads" home from Pammel State Park in Iowa. We came across the 8 acre "Welcome Home Soldier" Monument in Albia, IA. It is a tribute to all who served, war or peace time. It is still a work in progress. For a $200 donation, you can have someone who served on a wall. Pretty moving place. Odd thing: we saw no signs for it from the direction we arrived that either of us recalled. We had heard about it from museum curator in another city.
