This is my ***** about mail in votes. If election day is November 3, all votes are in by November 3. Anything after that is trash. You've had plenty of time to get it done. You pay your credit card late? Penalty. Pay your property taxes late? Penalty Don't get to Kroger before they close? No soup for you. Don't catch that last Essex ferry across Lake Champlain, you're stuck in NY overnight.
The only thing that makes me not be 100% militant about this is our oversea military personnel. But with our military budget, one would think there is enough money to figure out how to get that done.

It should be in danger. It was a tool by the left to cheat. Absentee voting should always be in place, but not mail in ballots, as there are just too many risks. Another thing is election day. Election day is 1 day, and it should be left alone.

What is the difference between absentee voting and mail in voting? Won't people revert to absentee voting if they ban mail in voting?
What if you can't possibly make it to the polls on "election day"?
Bonus question - Do you think ICE should be allowed at the voting polls?

Since ICE is federal, I am very much opposed to this. The Constitution is quite clear that the STATES run elections.
In my view, the right tosses out the Constitution when it's inconvenient for them.

I have never done absentee or mail-in voting. Have done in-person early voting for a long time. I will continue to do that as long as it continues to be legal in Illinois.

To me, mail-in voting is the same as absentee voting. If you can't make it to the polls on Election Day, or vote in person early, then you're considered "absent", and can vote with an absentee ballot. Those ballots usually have to be mailed or dropped off at a county election office. Hence, the term mail-in ballot.
You have elderly that live in nursing homes that are still able to fill out a ballot; elderly or disabled not able to drive to a poll; working moms and dads whose 2-3 PT jobs prevent them from voting on Election Day. These are the voters who want their voices heard, their votes counted, but are voices and votes that certain powers in DC are trying to silence. My opinion and mine alone and not my employer's.
