They're Out There Today

The Illinois State Police, that is. Saw more than usual along I-74 from MBB bridge to Gale Street exit. Which is a good thing.

But heading to Bloomington for work, I counted about 6 along the way, East of Morton. And if a vehicle was pulled over, it was always a semi truck-trailer. No cars. One was on the Goodfield exit ramp. The radar trap past Goodfield exit very rarely have I seen a ISP. Today, 3 cars were parked there! And saw 2 more running radar between the rest area and Carlock. This was in addition to an ISP on each side of I-74 in the construction zone where the speed is 45 mph between Rivian Exit and I-55 junction.

Saw just about the same number of ISP going west back to Peoria.

Wonder if it was a special enforcement on speeders, watching for drivers with phones in their hands, or targeting semis for illegal loads or illegal drivers.

Not complaining, just have never seen that many out on that stretch.
