So what is wrong with bonds hitting a record? Call me uneducated about difference between bonds and stocks. I don't own bonds, just have 401k in various stocks. #msg1945089

When bond yields go higher the stock
seems less attractive. The govt might be facing a shortage of bond buyers. The govt probably does because Japan UK and China have been selling them in recent days. That is probably one of the things discussed with the Arab allies yesterday. Maybe they were going to sell their bonds too. It also means it is likely the interest rates will go higher in the next 60 or so days. Plus pension funds will start taking profits and investing in the higher yields that are guaranteed. That is quite a difference between a 3% yield in the stock market and a yield of 5.19% on bonds
