Would Trump be foolish enough to try this? I'm betting he would, he's that power hungry.

1. He wins the November election. He won't need or want a transition team, because he's "done" this before, knows what people he wants in his administration.
2. He will employ lawyers that won't get paid, to argue and lobby his 6-3 SCOTUS to temporarily suspend any Constitutional laws about Electoral College certification, and move the date up to December 6. And Democrats won't be able to voice objections to any state votes, even if win margin was 5% or less.

3. He will convince his 6-3 SCOTUS buddies to move up Inauguration date to December 20 just to be sworn in informally at the Capitol rotunda, so he can kick Biden out, and take office. Then he'll sign whatever Executive Orders he seems necessary (even if some are standard to keep some departments going), and whatever EO he puts out that he knows Congress won't touch, especially if the Democrats take back the House.
Then, on December 22, he'll need to take a holiday vacation at one of his resorts to play golf, because he's worked sooo hard already. And come back in time on January 20 for a formal celebration fit for a king. Including a military parade down Pennsylvania Avenue.

Sounds like satire or crazy? Maybe, maybe not. I wouldn't put it past him to even threaten any SCOTUS judges if they didn't agree to his demands.

"WASHINGTON - Former President Donald Trump unconstitutionally profited from the presidency during his tenure in the White House, reaping millions of dollars for his business empire from foreign governments, House Democrats allege in an extensive report.

Democrats on the House Oversight Committee released a 156-page report Thursday morning accusing Trump of exploiting the presidency to financially benefit himself and members of his family. Trump's businesses, according to the report, received at least $7.8 million from corrupt and authoritarian governments including China, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

The report is the culmination of a nearly seven-year investigation. It says records and documents obtained by House Oversight Democrats reveal "a stunning web of millions of dollars in payments made by foreign governments and their agents directly to Trump-owned businesses, while President Trump was in the White House."

Among the report's findings and records available to the committee, China made the most payments to Trump's businesses during his tenure, spending more than $5.5 million at Trump Tower in New York and two of Trump's hotels in Washington and Las Vegas.

House Oversight Democrats specifically accuse Trump of violating the Constitution's Foreign Emoluments Clause, which prohibits the president from profiting from foreign governments without the approval of Congress.

The report notes that its findings are incomplete after House Republicans took control of the committee last year and halted the investigation, which the late Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., started in 2016 when he was the top Democrat on the committee.

"It is true that $7.8 million is almost certainly only a fraction of Trump's harvest of unlawful foreign state money, but this figure in itself is a scandal and a decisive spur to action," Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., the top Democrat on the Oversight Committee, wrote in the report's foreword.

@skutfarcus : Unfortunately, Trumpsters will say he was not in control of the company at the time and therefore did not actually benefit. I doubt he let go of the actual control of Trump Tower, the golf courses or anything else, regardless of what he said.

Yet Trump will go untouched or suffer any reprimands for this constitutional crime. He continually breaks laws in every which way and continues to get away with it. I will say it for the 1,000th time, the scariest part is that he continues to have a big support base. We can rid ourselves of Trump and his wave of total destruction at the voting booth. You do not have to be a Joe Biden supporter, but you should make your vote count against the evil empire of Trump and his people.

I'm more of the opinion that Trump's name should NOT be removed from any ballot. Let the voters decide by NOT voting for him.
The insurrection clause of the Constitution is a gray area. The only reason SCOTUS would rule against Trump is, why did he, an incumbent who lost the election, held a needless rally the morning of the certification? There are arguments on both sides whether he caused the insurrection. I think he fired up the crowd, but not enough for them to attack the Capitol. It was during the March to the Capitol when everyone got notified that Pence was NOT going against the Constitutional duty of certifying the Electoral College votes. And then they got mad. Rest is a history that will never be forgotten.

Let's see Trump get outvoted at the ballot box, and laugh while his unpaid lawyers, and his supporters do a deja Vu of trying to claim vote fraud against his GOP opponents.

I don't think it should be left up to the voters. Just like I don't think it should be up to the voters that Cenk Uygur should be left to voters to decide.
