MAGA will find some sort of way to accept this by deflection:
Obama wore a tan suit and they called it a national scandal. Trump wore a $55 merch baseball cap to receive the coffins of six dead
American soldiers and it's just another Saturday.
Yesterday, Donald Trump showed up to the dignified transfer of six American soldiers killed in his Iran war wearing a $55 white "USA" baseball cap, the same one you can buy on his personal merch website.
He never took it off. Not once. Not as flag-draped coffins were carried past him. Not as Gold Star families wept.
No other sitting president has ever worn a baseball cap during a dignified transfer, based on publicly available images.
Military protocol is clear: civilians should remove headwear and place it over their heart as a sign of respect.
A retired Air Force Colonel pointed this out publicly. Trump didn't care.
Governor Gavin Newsom didn't mince words, calling Trump a "disgusting little man."
Former RNC chair Michael Steele, a Republican, demanded he take the hat off, saying it's called the "Dignified Transfer for a reason."
These six people, Maj. Jeffrey O'Brien, Capt. Cody Khork, CW3 Robert Marzan, SFC Nicole Amor, SFC Noah Tietjens, and Sgt. Declan Coady, just 20 years old, died in a drone strike in Kuwait.
They deserved a commander-in-chief who could manage the bare minimum of removing a hat. Instead they got a walking merchandise display.
And yes, in the endless list of Trump's unhinged deeds this is fairly small. But its worth pointing out. Obama's tan suit triggered days of media hysteria.
Trump turns a solemn military ceremony into a branding opportunity and the same crowd says nothing.
The double standards with these people is absurd.

@skutfarcus : Hard to believe that someone with knowledge of protocol didn't tell
DJT how offensive the stupid hat was. Not removing it with the passing flag draped caskets was even more offensive. Never miss an occasion to promote yourself, no matter how distasteful.

He doesn't care about laws, Constitution, or protocol. He wouldn't even visit a France Veteran's cemetery because it was raining. He does what he wants because HE'S the President.
Also just shows how he doesn't care about veterans or those that sacrificed their lives...for their country. I'm surprised he actually showed up this time. He usually sent his VP to see events like this so he could play golf....
My opinion and mine alone and not my employer's.

@skutfarcus : You are right, it is barely mentioned when Trump does something like this. Because in comparison to all of his other chaotic, weirdness, and criminal behavior this isn't as drastic. AND, I am thinking that Trump wears the hat because of that mess of hair on top of his head.

@skutfarcus : Sad, but true! Even with a Blue Wave, it will be a long road to recovery and more than one impeachment proceeding.

America will NEVER be the same. All because of Trump's presidency. Not Trump alone, but because his leadership has been guided by others who are just downright evil. Trump has only served as their puppet. But Trump also enjoyed the fruits that came with the puppet role. What a person will do for money and power has always amazed me. Arrogance and greed are at the root of our problem, and it most likely isn't going away anytime soon. And most likely not in our lifetime. I believe that there are more decent human beings than there are evil, greedy, corrupt, and despicable people. It is just that the latter group has more wealth and power than the decent human beings. I will be shocked if things ever get even remotely close to what we once knew as normal. You can call it whatever you want, and you are certainly entitled to your own opinions. But the world around us is pretty depressing right now. I know the middle class is struggling with everyday life right now, I don't know how a lower income family manages the necessities, let alone any extras. The greed of the wealthy and entitled have made everyday life a real struggle for a huge percentage of the population. I will never understand how a person can become elite type wealthy and not want to help others. How a person can become that way absolutely boggles my mind. I have always tried to help those who were less fortunate than myself. I actually get more good feelings out of helping others out than I ever did before. But the way things are it is getting harder and harder to do financially, physically, emotionally, and safely. I will always show others respect, help them out when and where I can, always give a smile and a hello. But I truly believe that our days as the greatest and most respected nation are over. And money, greed, and power are to blame. Sad situation that we are in, but we are all in this together. Shame on those who are so greedy and hungry for power that they have totally alienated a normal way of life for a huge percentage of their fellow mankind.

Kalen Dion;

"I was thinking about the reckless spending America did under Biden and Obama. The student loan forgiveness programs. The social safety nets. Healthcare and insurance subsidies for millions of Americans. Food stamps for the poor! Tax credits for single parents and struggling mothers!! USAID!!! All of these terrible, irresponsible programs that destroyed our vibrant economy!!!!
And who the **** pays for it all?
Us… right?!?!?!
When you run the numbers, a lot of these programs together cost us… the US taxpayer… hundreds of millions of dollars per day. ******* crazy right?!?!?!
Coming directly out of your paycheck!!! The audacity!!!
SNAP alone costs roughly $100 billion a year… which comes out to around $275 million a day. To feed a bunch of deadbeats. Student loan forgiveness proposals ranged from roughly $300 billion to over $900 billion… spread across ten years… depending on the plan… which works out to tens of millions per day. Wild!
All of it… Absolutely unconscionable and reckless spending.
On our tab nonetheless!
And I started thinking about how much better we're doing now. Right?
Thank god this administration took over!
Considering the changes around the expansion of ICE, civil defense programs, and the exploding cost of servicing the national debt. Debt interest alone now… let me double check these numbers…costs the United States roughly $2.8 billion dollars a day. That alone is ONLY nearly 10 times more than all of our humanitarian programs combined! Then there's the war spending. We're currently spending somewhere in the range of $1 billion a day on the war in Iran. And mind you that Iran as one of eight countries we are currently bombing.
Add to that the revenue loss from tax cuts for corporations and the ultra-rich. After accounting for revenue offsets… these responsible policies will reduce national revenue roughly somewhere around $540 million a day.
Thank God, we have to pay for that difference.
So when you start stacking the numbers together…
Um… lets see…
Debt interest at $2.8 billion a day.
War spending at $1 billion a day.
Net tax-cut revenue loss at $540 million a day.
It starts to look like this administration has helped us to the amount of…
NEGATIVE $4.35 billion dollars a day.
Thank goodness for fiscal responsibility! hallelujah! You wouldn't believe how much money I… personally… have saved!
And as an added bonus… we get to strip healthcare, food stamps, and housing assistance from the poorest families in America.
Then hand it all over to the wealthiest 1%. Who have now lowered their tax burden collectively by $65 billion dollars… a day!!!
All of this done while bombing and brutalizing people across Africa and the Middle East. And all of them… every single last one… black and brown people. In eight different countries… this year alone.
Give that man a Nobel peace prize! Where is Maria Conchito Alonso when you need her?!?!?!
God bless the USA! We are making America great again! One genocide at a time!"

"(NewsNation) -The U.S. and Israel launched joint strikes against Iran over the weekend, a move that came after the Trump administration had pursued diplomatic talks regarding Iran's nuclear program.

While President Donald Trump campaigned on a promise of no new wars, he has conducted multiple military strikes since his second term began."
