If your power went out on Thursday June 11 at 6:07PM, it was a tree that came down on the 3 phase power lines on Lincoln Avenue near the Harmon Highway bridge construction project. There was a sudden burst of wind that might have been a mini tornado. I think the power stayed out for 25 hours.

Be glad no tornadoes developed today. Lots and lots of heavy rain, with hail in some areas. Nathan Kitchens said the upper atmosphere never became unstable enough to produce the tornado threat that the SPC and NWS predicted. We went down by San Jose, Mason City, and ended up seeing lots of flooding near Armington, including this road near a creek. And the land around it was turned into a giant lake.How did everyone make out today? Those with rain gauges, how much came to your house?

I thought the storm I drove through north of Springfield yesterday was nasty with all its torrential rains and forceful winds until I got home and noticed the Tracker was still dirty from all the Missouri dirt roads I had driven on. Missouri Dirt 1, Illinois Thunderstorms 0.

Another round is coming, and it's definitely making the weeds grow.
