Well all those leases signed by a 17 year old should be really easy to break as I don't know how a minor's signature can be legally binding.

Can we just hold the phone for a second?? There have been mothers in the south end who are going through the same thing because a landlord won't fix the plumbing. So the tenant has to shut off the water. And other necessities.

Where have the news stations been all this time????

Hello WEEK! YOOOOO-HOOOOOOO!! You afraid to go to the south end???

warren danz a slumlord? i dont believe it. he got suspended a few years back for running a payday loan scam with clients waiting for settlements. of course attorneys are as bad as cops about self policing their own ranks so he only got suspended for a month.

im more surprised he has a 17 year old daughter. he has to be well into his 70s.

@jimthompson : 77 actually (according to court records)

And in 2010 he was ordered to pay $2680.90/month for child support.

Surely there's a state or Federal Housing regulation out there that requires a person to be 18 or 21 to sign leases? Even if it's a privately owned apartment complex?

@DennisinMH : It's not just a Federal Housing thing. She's a minor. And a minor cannot enter a contract with an adult, no matter whose name she's signing. This guy's in big trouble.

@AllHailTheQuisp : I don't think she was. I think we was signing on behalf of the company.

@kraziebill : In order for anyone to sign anything on my behalf, they need to have power of attorney and be at least 18 years-old.

She has to have the same power of attorney for her father.
