The main reason a person does not want to pay is that they don't know if the money is going to their children.

When you write your letter, I would emphasize that you are more than happy to support your children, supporting your children is not an obligation, but a privilege. The problem is that you are paying a bunch of unnecessary interest to mixed up system that is not helping your family.

In the meantime you may want to ask your employer to take the full month's worth of child support out of your first check of the month instead of the bi-weekly amount on the order. This will keep you paid for the full monthly amount within the month.

@leslie110 : That's actually not a bad idea. BUT, I get paid twice in 28 days so t here's 1-3 days left over in each month that would have to get figured in and I think my company just goes by the order as it was sent to them. I need to look and see if there's a monthly amount listed on the Child support forms

@HipKat : There is a monthly amount and then an amount for each pay frequency. If your monthly amount is $500 then the per pay period amount is 500 x 12/pay periods. If they take the $500 from one check it doesn't matter how many days there are in the month as long as you pay $500 to the state disbursement unit.
