Road Construction News IDOT has been working on joint replacements and other items on the Cedar Street Bridge, with traffic down to one lane each direction from Washington Street to Edmund Street exit.
Now, starting June 1st the entire bridge will be closed for deck patching, electrical work, and continuing joint replacements. This work is expected to last until Mid-Late August. A detour will be posted.

In other bridge news.... The McClugage project had a bit of setback.. While building the "switchback" on the East Peoria side, crews had to dig part of it back up and install a drain as the switchback was holding water.

Did a little searching, found within IDOT's website a list of all planned highway construction plans between now and 2031. I narrowed it down to District 4 which includes Peoria, Tazewell, Fulton and Knox Counties. Details on road or bridge, type of work, estimated cost, and when work is planned. Example: Plans to widen US 24/9 from Banner East to Romine Road, eventually to Kingston Mines.
Also, work on the Fondulac Bridge over I-74; and what looks like micro surfacing of I-474 from the river to I-74. (Seems that's been done 3 or 4 years ago, but that was a whole reconstruction).
Through this link, you can view other Illinois districts. There 78 pages alone for our district, so can't imagine how many pages Cook County would be. public.powerdms.com/ IDOT/documents/31790 95

Gotta love how they choose to work on bridges in the middle of the day when it's scorching and traffic is already a mess.
