@septboy : Yes. There was a car dealership where GFS and Culvers are located. I don't know what happened there. Did it burn down or something? I don't recall.

@goob : Do you remember if the auto dealership just moved elsewhere or did something happen to cause them to close or move. My old brain seems to recall it closed fairly quickly.

RambleOn : Yes, and its successor, Oogie's. Had breakfast there many, many times.

I remember Oogie's used to have a summertime promotion with their homemade root beer -- free refills until you had to 'go'

I thought I remember that was Velde Ford -- they moved up to Pioneer Parkway across from Handy Andy.

The Homestead in Metamora. (i think that was the name)

The Red Oak, both the original in Bishop Hill, and the one that was briefly near the Shoppes at Grand Prairie.

Maple Shade Loved their fried chicken and corn fritters. Food and service were always excellent.

Wernsman's in Germantown Hills. They had amazing fried catfish!
 
I remember Beef-a-Roo. I liked their roast beef better than Arby's, and was sad when they went out of business.
 
I used to love going to the Sea Merchant. It was started by the same people who went on to start the River Station, if I recall correctly.
