Sunrise pic taken through a somewhat dirty bus window. Other pics are actual trees used to support a roof of the lodge/restaurant; interesting rock formations along a trail at Giant City State Park. A trail so rugged, they recommend 1 or 2 walking sticks.

Our family visited Giant City State Park when I was about 5 years old. The family story says that I was quite upset that there were no real giants there. Have wanted to go again as an adult, but haven't made it.
Beautiful photos!

The steps up and down were a little tricky at times. But we made it!

Actually, I think Garden of the Gods was more impressive than the Cave-In-Rock. Great views, made you think you weren't in Illinois.

Has anyone else here been to this area of Illinois?

Talk about antiques:

This was at an outpost general store by Garden of the Gods. They actually sold Tshirts with it; also Tshirts with Bigfoot and the rock formations.

The antique cash register in Elizabethtown is actually being used, mostly for a cash drawer. Owner would add up items on paper plus tax, then hit a key to open drawer.
