There have been stories around that Trump had spent several hours watching the movie "The Longest Day"
Those just might turn out to be true. The USS Tripoli, an amphibious assault ship, is on its way to the Mideast.
So are some amphibious assault vehicles.,

It's been mentioned that the President will end the war when he "feels it on his bones". Is this a true statement?

If it is, I'm betting that's how he decides on perhaps any action he does: criticism and bullying of others, Executive Orders, putting his name and picture all over DC, appointing staff, you name it.
He probably got a long overnight phone call from his buddy Benjamin telling him to attack because they were going to, and DJT must have felt "something in his bones" instead of relying on expert military generals.
My opinion and mine alone and not my employer's

@DennisinPeoria :
Trump is in it way over his head and pay grade. It could be he knows it. So, he could fight to the end whenever and wherever it is, He could also take anything that he thinks is a safety exit, wherever and whatever it is. I have no idea. Though, escorting ships through Strait of Hormuz is high risk probably carried to the extreme.

Here is part of the War Powers Act. Passed in 1973. 1st page (if you can read it) looks pretty persuasive that a President HAS to ask Congress for ANY Military Action, whether an Operation or a War. However, this is not the full document.. Other pages might have text where his loyalist lawyers found a loophole so they can keep their jobs.

Multiple European news outlets have reported that Iran has the capabilities to manufacture cheap drones underground. Though, they may be cheap , they are doing some damage. Unclear how long it takes for them to manufacture one.
Apparently, it escaped US intelligence . It seems like it probably escaped Israeli intelligence too.

"Apparently it escaped US intelligence" that phrase is very popular with this version of the presidency and his cabinet members.

@billybob :
Didn't DOGE and the Gold Loving WH guy decimate a lot of Intelligence staff?
What about domestic terrorism intelligence? Shouldn't Americans worry about underground Iranian cells or ISIS groups manufacturing and releasing drones on American bases and cities?

My opinion and I'm sticking to it.

@DennisinPeoria : Yes, they did. A few weeks before the war, if it was even that long, the FBI fired some agents and support staff that the FBI and White House said investigated Trump endlessly etc. etc. Later, it was reported that they were all the most senior FBI staff experienced on Iran and Iranian counter terrorism.
Can't tell for sure how much was also cut from the FBI on domestic terrorism. But there were cuts. Also, the intelligence agencies had their share of cuts from DOGE and Musk.
Voice of America was totally decimated and for which we are paying a dear price. However, they are now operating again in 4 languages and in Farsi 24/7. But that only started a few weeks ago. Not long enough to grow a huge revolution.
Iran blocked the internet before we cut VOA. So, Musk cut VOA and tried to hook his satellite up to restart the internet. The Iranian govt. succeeded in blocking about 95-97% of the internet. So the people did not know what was happening, where to assemble and so on. There is absolutely no doubt that the lack of crowd gathering in Iran during the war is due to lack of public information on where to assemble. VOA was very, very, very vital in the Iranian Revolution and the fall of Eastern Europe. It is nearly impossible to block VOA and if it happens they have other frequencies to broadcast on. Not so with the internet.
I think the sleeper cells will be a much bigger problem in smaller and medium cities because some elements are mostly are aware of progress that large urban areas have made since 9-11. However, nothing is perfect.

In the meantime, with the Strait of Hormuz:
apnews.com/article/i ran-iraq-us-trump-ma rch-15-2026-9bbed3c9 06146844be08fdf

Iran is letting other countries through. Just not US flagged ships apparently.
I'd like to see those allies call up the "Art of the Deal" maker, and say, "ok, if you really want our help, here's what YOU, as President, needs to do for us. (Lower tariffs?)
My opinion and mine alone and not my employer's.

@DennisinPeoria :
Apparently, they are only letting ships through whose oil or cargo is traded in Chinese currency.

There seems to be an offer from some unnamed countries to escort ships through the strait. However, the fighting has to stop first.

Today, Iran went into a complete internet blackout. The tiny little bit that was getting through is no longer working.
