It's nice when someone comes in to your new place of work to find a regular from your old place stopped patronizing them once they found out I wasn't there anymore. I've had several people tell me it's just not the same anymore and how I'm better off for it. Getting canned was a tough pill to swallow, but comments like these make it much more palpable.

Don't ya love it? I was in a similar situation: take a demotion or get fired. I'll take the get fired, thank you. Save me from myself trying to do the right things. Then, according to my former second in charge (who stepped down to avoid having to take my job) things got extremely bad.
