Miss the July 3 Fireworks at Glen Oak Park

Fights, rowdy people, misbehavior, unruliness, setting off illegal fireworks,........ you know, all of the the usual things that ruin good things for everyone else. 🙄

Oh, so all of that is gone now? No illegal fireworks? No rowdy people? No misbehavior?

A police chief that gave the park district cover for doing what they wanted to do anyway, and which saves them a lot of money.

But, but, but They're going to replace the fireworks with a day of activities and a drone show and......Nevermind

Why do you think the Glen Oak fireworks show was canceled?
I only gave my opinion based on the stories that I heard or read about.

The other issue was the fact that Peoria police and Park Police were stretched because of people fighting, drinking, in areas around Glen Oak Park, not always in it. Then, the next day, same police force having to work with the Riverfront Fireworks crowds.

Bad behavior in general and bad behavior that could cause danger to a lot of people. And why there and not the riverfront? It is easier to sneak away into the East Bluff. The riverfront has more cops, more cameras are around, there are more people with cellphone cameras, and there aren't a lot of places to sneak off and hide from your mischievous actions.
