Mattress buying...whatcha sleeping on? Sleep number? Memory foam? Pillow top?

We used our wedding money to buy a fancy pencil post frame (very stylish in '93) and top notch mattress and bedspring with our wedding money. Time to be grown ups and replace the mattress.

I was a little nervous about buying a mattress online but it is comfy. You have to unroll it and leave it overnight to fully expand.

Futon

Not from any of the local places.... you can get better. Best thing ever for a sore back.

@Mahkno : Do you sleep on a futon?

Yep... have been for all of my adult life.

We recently got a variant on the Cocorest from the link I have above... it is very nice. : )

Now... you can't just put a futon on any ole bed frame.... gonna need a sheet of plywood or a frame that is designed for futons, which we have. The one we have looks like a bed... not a convertible couch.

I've been hearing a LOT of good things about the Casper mattress company. Check this out

casper.com/

It looks like they deliver it to your door and let you try it for free for a decent amount of time, and if you don't like it, they come get it and donate it to someone local in need, no questions asked.

Hell, if I needed a mattress, I would try it.

What I hate about mattresses is how cheap they are made today. Remember when mattresses were finished on both sides and you were able to flip them? Now they are only finished on one side and they wear out and sag in a short amount of time. They tell you that you do not need to flip them and they last just as long - it is a lie. After much research, I found that Serta still makes them (hotel series - double sided pillowtop) and the only place I have found them available is US Mattress. I just ordered two a few weeks ago. Last year I ordered a king - it is wonderful!
