Main and Monroe crowd gathering

About 30 minutes ago, multiple 911 calls were made about a crowd of 50, and growing, was gathering outside the Peoria Public Library.

This follows an incident earlier media morning, at the same location, of a man yelling at people

Nothing new....this has been going on every Saturday night/Sunday morning at that intersection since COVID.
The city tried to deter them by blocking off the on-street parking and adding portable floodlight trailers. The floodlight have been there so long, they now show up on Google streetview.

Wonder what it's costing the city to rent those and fuel them for so long?

For the record, there's at least 3 more floodlight trailers down around the Vibez nightclub where the pedestrian was killed Saturday morning.

The man yelling, and at times, holding a broom over his head was about 11:45pm last night. He was walking back and forth from the library to Hoops.

The other call about the crowd at the library was about 4am after the bars closed. A much smaller crowd gathered there earlier but everything was fine until the crowd started getting larger and louder later.
