The lies combined with the incompetence and narcissism are a very dangerous mix.

Is this for real? I assumed the temporary WH resident's goal (or one of the many changing goals) was regime change. And that Iran was emboldened not to give up so easily.

Or is this just fake rhetoric from him to help drop oil prices, as well as jump up the Wall Street markets for all his wealthy friends and donors to sell for big profits that average Americans can't do?

Trump has been talking to the head of the Iranian parliament to become the next leader. Trump says he is friendly to the USA. That may or may or may not be the case. So, to pull this off would cause major blowback in Iran. How it would ever be successfully accomplished is mind boggling.
Some people think this 5 day delay is just a stalling game by Trump until thousands more US troops arrive later this week.

Guess he wants to be King of the World! Canada, Greenland, Venezuela and Cuba have so far rejected him. Meanwhile, he can claim the title "King of Chaos"!

@MadScientist :
Oh, I have no doubt that some Big Oil traders got a text or message from someone who seems to not sleep much at night in a white house in DC....

@IAMMAGA :
No, my employer does NOT have the same opinions as I do. Not everyone where I work HAVE the same opinions and political leanings. I've been here 6 years, so I would know. Unless you have inside information on their opinions. Which I doubt.
However, the main reason I add those tags...is because it's corporate policy since last year.
I suggest you Google Nexstar Media group, and see information about it's corporate leadership. You might be surprised who they have supported.
And watch News Nation, and decide that their reporting is biased one way or another.
The preceding message is my opinion and mine alone and definitely not my employer's.

Back to the topic.
Recent announcements by either the WH administration or the Stay-up-all night/Fall asleep during meetings Guy is getting very confusing.
1. He gave Iran 48 hours to open the Strait or he'd be sending B-2 bombers to destroy their power plants.
2. 36 hours later, he extends it 5 days, saying his administration had been in talks to open the Strait. Talks that Iran has totally denied happening.
3. He had all kind of military soldiers either close or on the way there to be deployed possibly in a ground combat situation.
4. He said a 15 point "Ceasefire"plan has been sent to Iran to end the hostilities.
Did he check with his Israeli master Benjamin if this was ok? I thought Israel was still sending missiles to Iran.

Or perhaps this is his way of stalling things until his massive infantry is in place to invade, which is been his plan all along. After all, one of his "goals" was regime change to "free the people". What if half the population doesn't want regime change? If DJT and Hegseth believe regime change in Iran will be as easy as taking out Maduro in Venezuela, they better bring back the fired intelligence experts.

Too many unknown factors here, which is a common thing these days between him, his administration, and his Cabinet members. But that's my opinion and mine alone and not my employer's.

An Iranian military official claims no negotiations are going on. And he mocked the news of it. Excerpt:

"The comments from Lt. Col. Ebrahim Zolfaghari, a spokesperson for the Iranian military's Khatam Al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, which jointly commands Iran's regular military and paramilitary Revolutionary Guard, came after the plan was submitted to Iran by intermediaries.

U.S. President Donald Trump has said that American officials are negotiating with Iran on the plan, but Zolfaghari, in a recorded video statement that aired on state television, suggested there were no talks.

"Have your internal conflicts reached the point where you are negotiating with yourselves?" he said.

"Our first and last word has been the same from day one, and it will stay that way: Someone like us will never come to terms with someone like you," Zolfaghari said. "Not now, not ever."

That "15 point peace plan" that Don The Con said Iran was looking and thinking about negotiating? Most likely another outright lie. Iran said no negotiations, even with a 3rd party in between, is going on. They have totally rejected what the WH has offered.

France confirms oil crisis, says 30-40 percent of Gulf energy infrastructure destroyed
www.france24.com/en/ france-confirms-oil- crisis-says-30-40-gu lf-energy-infra
France's Finance Minister Roland Lescure revealed on Wednesday that between 30 and 40 per cent of Gulf refining capacity has been damaged or destroyed by Iran's retaliatory strikes, leaving a shortage of 11 million barrels a day on global oil markets. Lescure warned it could take up to three years to restore damaged facilities, and several months to restart those that were urgently shut down.

Meanwhile, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has travelled to Algeria for emergency energy talks, seeking to secure increased gas deliveries to Italy as the country scrambles to replace lost LNG supplies from Qatar.

With fossil fuel supplies under severe strain, both the UK and Germany signalled on Wednesday that the energy crisis is accelerating their green transitions.

This comes as European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde assured the continent that the ECB has several options for dealing with the inflation shock triggered by the US-Israeli war on Iran, and vowed that policymakers would not be "paralysed by hesitation".
