It is always a catch 22. If it is sold out, the prices won't come down. It's a catch 22, if it is sold out, the prices won't come down. On the other hand if there are seats left, the prices will come down, but there might be a cattle stampede to get the remaining tickets because everybody else is sitting on the sidelines, waiting for the prices to come down.
