Girl Scout cookies

You would think if you buy $100 worth of GS cookies every year, girls would remember and look for you again next year. Guess I'll have to wait for the girls to setup outside Sam's Club.

Girl scout troops are heavily pressured to sell a lot of cookies.
The troops only get something like $0.25 for every box sold. There are better ways to make money for your troop... like a straight up bake sale.
Many parents find the whole thing immensely irritating.
The tables outside retail places is the most efficient way to move cookies.

I think a lot of troops would opt out if they could.

If it's all about taste, just go to your local Dollar General.
They have other flavors, too.

I'm not a huge fan of the Girl Scouts. I dealt with the local hierarchy when I worked for the Tri-County Urban League back in the 80s. We raised 3 daughters and my wife was a leader. I could tell some stories.

Am I the only one who doesn't like Girl Scout Cookies? There are so many better cookies in the world.

I quit liking Girl Scout cookies when I had to help deliver hundreds of boxes every time it was cookie season. As a big brother I was forced into cookie distribution slavery. I wasn't a volunteer and I want reparations!

I buy them, but have them donated to our armed forces. I was a Girl Scout and have a sense of duty where cookie sales are involved. I like the Great Value cookies from Walmart. The coconut ones and peanut butter fudge patties are just as good and cheap!

@skutfarcus : Picked up the "thin mint" and the "peanut butter sandwich". I'd say the thin mint were pretty spot on. PB sandwich, not so much, but for a $1 for the package, I won't complain. Will try a few others next go-around.

We still have 2-3 boxes of GS cookies, including Thin Mints, in our freezer, probably since 2016.

I really luv the GS Thin Mints. But, a couple of months ago we found some cookies at Kroger's that tasted the same/were just as good.

@jannn1959 : I've done that in the past when I had employees/friends who had children deployed. Bless you for doing this!❤️❤️

We bought GS cookies from 2 different young girls 2 years apart. They live in the neighborhood and both have very nice parents. One time was 2014 and next was later. Still waiting for them to be delivered. I don't care for the cookies, will never ask for my money back and still enjoy the parents. I just say NO when approached by little sales girls. It is true, dollar general sales those cookies. Probably made at same place.
