Up and Down Gas Prices

The Ups and Downs of everything depending on what messages comes out of the Federal Government concerns whether I should work past my tentative retirement date of February 1. February is my birthday month, was kind of leaning towards it. But not if the 401k keeps sliding down based on someone's whims when they wake up in the morning.My opinion and mine alone and not my employer's.

I hope I don't have to come out of retirement!

Surprised that some gas stations near the Illinois State Fair hasn't jumped their prices more than usual because of expected crowds. The Thornton's across from one of the entrances to the Fair is at $4.19, cheaper than most places around.

NP Casey's on Rt 98 was $4.34 Thursday when my wife filled up her rental car (Her Malibu was in shop until Friday)
Today, I topped off my Encore at Casey's in Sherman at $4.17, while some Springfield stations were higher, but not much lower. A Phillips near Pekin Kroger was $4.39. But that same NP Casey's had dropped theirs to $4.05...in just 3 days. Hmmm.

Took a trip to Gibson City today for daughter's birthday. Casey's there was 4.34. I hadn't filled up before going, and it was down to almost 1/4, so I put in $25. Took tank up to 3/4. Oh well. That's because the Casey's on N. 8th in Pekin is 1st station in a long time to go below $4, at $3.99. NP and CC was at $4.03 when I came home from work last night.

Beck's in Peoria Heights is down to 4.09/gallon yet oil is up to 91.30/barrel and we are going into the holiday weekend.......makes no sense

I bought E88 at Thorntons in East Peoria for $3.87.

Diesel hits all time record high $5.82/gal This is what moves products across the world. It will drive inflation for everything.
