Filled up the van yesterday for 13 cents a gallon less than the same station is charging today. Really glad I don't have to drive across town to go to work every day!

@CCubs :
Democratic voters gave us Pritzker who slammed us with the second highest gas tax in the nation. Maybe if we had Republican state gas taxes like Iowa, gas prices would be lower like $3.38 in Davenport.

@AntiRanchDrssng : Missouri is raising their speed limits on divided rural highways to 75. That's really going to speed up the trip to the in-laws!

In light of the gas prices we decided to keep the minivan parked in the driveway and take my hybrid on our vacation instead. Westward Ho! (in a month)

Costco up another 10 cents tonight according to Gas Buddy. That makes 23 cents higher than when I filled up yesterday.

And then folks would complain about state roads and highways getting bad, not repaired, or bridges replaced.
So think about this:
How was the new EB McCluggage Bridge span paid for?
How was I-74 reconstruction from Morton to I-55 paid for? (Finished couple years ago)
How is the I-474 bridge near I-74 replacement is being paid for?
How was IL Rt. 116 repaving thru Peoria in the South End paid for?
And that's just in our area.

Gas prices are extremely high because of our FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, not because of our state government.

Multiple issues, of which gas is one of them, will come crashing down all at once around end of June and give a major headache to the republicans.
It's almost cheaper to have a barrel delivered. Brought right to your doorstep.

@DennisinPeoria :
You mean all the stuff they should be doing in the first place?
I guess I had mean parents. You didn't buy a car unless you had the funds to take care of it. It seems our government needs my parents to oversee them and carry a big stick. We keep building new stuff but should ensure we maintain the old stuff first. We spend and spend and spend but then have to raise taxes more to pay more for the stuff we are supposedly already being taxed for.
