The interview was tape recorded. There has been a huge shift in thinking to releasing the recording of the interview which was tape recored. Lawyer Vance has stressed the multiple ways releasing the transcript could potentially come back to haunt the GOP. They think that releasing the recording has less potential to do so for reasons we cited.
