City Hall armed security for $200,000? On next week's council agenda.....
"Communication from the City Manager and Chief of Police with a Request to Approve the
Authorization to Execute a Two-Year Contract with A&A Security Group, in an Amount Not to
Exceed $195,650.00 Annually, to Provide Armed Security Services at City Hall" The council packet isn't out yet, so I don't have any details besides the above, but is this really needed?

I kind of assumed the 2 security officers at the front desk next to a metal detector were possibly armed.
Speaking of not needed, if you watch a park board meeting you'll see an armed police officer in attendance. This was at the request of Robert Johnson who felt unsafe because he was being verbally harassed. I don't know who he was scared of- the other board members or the five or six people usually in attendance.
Find out many have canceled carry. Back in the day of gun slingers. Who is fastest to draw. How privileged we have become.
I don't believe they need any more Armed security than I do walking into work at 5:30 am or when I have worked a double shift and walk to my car at 11:00 pm at night.
