Best Local Place For Steak Wife going with Chillicothe sister to St. Louis tomorrow for a Cardinal game Thursday (sister is a big Cardinal fan) So I'm thinking a decent steak dinner preferably at a local place. Ribeye or Sirloin is my preference, don't need a T-bone or Porterhouse. I know it won't be cheap, with beef prices continually rising in restaurants as well as grocery stores.
Suggestions are appreciated.

We went to Texas Roadhouse last night to treat the granddaughter. Turned out to also be a fundraiser for the Special Olympics with local police, so it was quite busy. Anywho the granddaughter got a sirloin steak (she likes hers well done) and while I was helping her cut the meat, I couldn't help to notice how tender it still was. We certainly don't do TRH very often because of the prices, but service and staff have never been a problem.

Johnny's Italian Steakhouse in East Peoria, Hands down the best of the best,

Johnny's might be out of my price range, as would Jim's Bistro perhaps.
Texas Roadhouse is always packed. In the past, I've had good steaks at Logan's Roadhouse. But those 2 are chains. Our usual Sunday breakfast place, Main Street Family Restaurant in Creve Coeur has a couple steak selections, but I've never had them.
What about Schooner's, Crusens, or Kouri's Pub on Sterling?

Don't sleep on Todd's steaks out at 2 chez. Damn good. Also the best lamb chops in town.

@collar: and that double thick cut pork chop is killer good.
I know Schooners and Khouri's do not have a steak on their menu. And I'm no help because I rarely if ever eat steak when I go out to dinner. I think the last one I had was a sirloin at Texas Roadhouse (not a fan of chain restaurants but just trying to keep the peace with the family) and it was pretty good.
