According to the Journal Star, The Blickenstaff group has lowered the price on the old Armory Building to $200K.
For something that is four walls, no roof, the floor pretty much rotted through and water in the basement, that's a lot of money.
I'm not in the construction business, but to put up a whole new roofing structure and replace the floors on a building that size would make a $1M look small. And that wouldn't include anything else done to it.
People on FB have all sorts of great ideas for the building...homeless shelter, mental/drug rehabilitation, concert venue, indoor basketball court, the list goes on, but not how to pay for it or the rehab.
Maybe the city can buy it. They love ****** real estate deals.
