We probably had that same young salesman at our door the other day, trying to sell home security systems. I simply told him that our small town has very low crime, really didn't see a need. Vivent was on his hat and shirt. (I have thought about a ring cam, but never looked into one)
He went away, probably dejected, but not angry.
My wife was at her mom's house in Pekin, and says the same guy knocked on her door. Wife answered door, told him her mom (age 93) not interested. He insisted on talking directly, my wife said she can speak for her, she's her daughter. He walked away. I totally understand this guy is trying to make some money, probably working on a commission. Don't see door to door sales people that much in MH. Most sales calls come via spam calls on cells. But they need to accept a "no" answer and move on.

Not this summer, but the last few, the solar people were really pushy. I happened to be working in my backyard and this guy just walks back there. He wouldn't take NO for an answer, and kept up the pressure. Finally, I went over to where the end of the garden hose, picked it up, and started walking to the side of the house where the spigot was. I think he thought I was going to hose him down. I just wanted a drink

My response always is- "I will tell you no one time politely and respectfully. All bets are off after that."

While one person's actions reflect their character. Going door to door is interesting work. Meeting people is just as interesting and observing how they treat one another teaches us valuable lessons.
Do onto others the reaping of what is sown.

I have a "NO Soliciting" sign on my door. They leave me alone.
